Tezuka Architects - Matsunoyama Natural Science Museum, 2003. A 39’ X 13’ picture window made of 3” acrylic was designed to withstand over 2300lbs/inch of pressure to provide visitors with a unique view of the region’s massive amount of annual snowfall, which can top 100 feet/season. Aires Mateus - Sines Arts Center, Sines 2006. The cultural complex rises several stories above grade, reference the scale of castle walls found in the medieval city. It continues underground, where subterranean levels are spanned with a series of parallel bridges supported at the building perimeter, creating an unbroken view corridor through the site from the sidewalk.
